I was invited to give a talk in Cambridge as a part of the newly established 'Bridging Mental Health' network, a seminar series inviting interdisciplinary researchers working on mental health to present key findings from their area.

I was asked to present some of my more philosophical work on defining 'dysfunction', as seen in my PhD and this pre-print, with the title: 'Defining Mental Disorder: Is this dysfunction?'. The description was: "Dr Hunt’s work examines mental disorder from an evolutionary perspective. His talk will explore how concepts of evolutionary dysfunction can be used to distinguish disorder from normal variation, the different types of 'illness' that exist from an evolutionary perspective, and what is at stake when we define dysfunction in mental health research and clinical practice."

Thanks to Tanay Katiyar and Johanna Silva-Stüger for the invitation, and the audience for stimulating discussion.
