Why living in the future is leaving us unfulfilled
My second Medium post talks to the problems which come with technological advance: we evolved to desire certain activities, and to feel fulfilled by them, but human society has now reached a point where most of those naturally desirable/purposeful activities are done for us. It's natural to feel empty and pointless given this state of affairs.
This is a more negative article than I would usually like to write: I'm a fan of only pointing out a problem when you can offer a solution, and in this post, I provide no solution. Nevertheless, I believe this is a far-reaching problem which is rarely discussed so explicitly, so it felt necessary to write about.
